LUNG HEALTH AND THE 6 DAY DETOX

For our friends and customers who are in Canada and the Eastern Seabord and are having the worst air quality in the world right now blanketed in smoke. We wanted to share some tools how best to support your body with smoke inhalation and protect your breathing pathways.

We are sharing a simple chinese recipe for steamed pears. According to traditional Chinese medicine, pears are considered helpful to strengthen the Lungs, prevent colds and coughs, and speed up the healing of colds and coughs. Smoke attacks the lungs, so right now we especially need to keep our lungs healthy.🍐

Cook Time
15-25 minutes

Ingredients

2 pears asian pears are great, but any would do
2 tsp honey (not when on 6 day detox)
cm fresh ginger thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the top off the pear or slice them. Cut out the seeds of the pear to make a hollow
  2. Place the pear in a bowl and add a tsp of honey and a slice of ginger to the centre of the pear. Place the top back on (the pears are so sweet we highly recommend no honey especially when on our 6 Day Program)
  3. Place the bowl with the pear in a steamer and steam for 15-25 minutes. The colour of the pear will change to be transparent when it is ready. Gently peel away the skin or not.
    SO EASY!

Recipe Notes

Serve the pear at anytime through the day, eat while it's warm you can keep the leftovers in the fridge. We suggest re-steaming the left overs before eating.

Another powerful way is to use binders to bind to and help the body eliminate toxins. They are great at adsorbing toxins in your body, and preventing reabsorption, facilitating their excretion through the digestive tract. This can be especially helpful after smoke inhalation,, recipe Black Lemonade
